The Courtois Cabana is a private acre campground with crystal clear Courtois Creek frontage and a 200 foot gravel bar. Across the river are miles of Mark Twain National Forest. You and yours will enjoy significant privacy on this superbly tree lined, primitive property with easy access off of Highway 8. And your pets are welcome here with no leash required! Up to about 20 guests will have plenty of shady campsites in a secluded rural setting where nobody will interrupt your good time. There is plenty of room, and electric, for your tents, pop-ups and one RV. Regardless of the number of guests in your party, the Cabana will always be just for you the entire time you have it reserved. To maintain the privacy aspect, the campground is not rented to multiple parties at the same time. A prefabricated army barracks sat on this Courtois Creek property for nearly 50 years until being purposely burned down in the spring of 2008. A shack at best, it nonetheless quickly became known as "the cabana" among our family and friends. Despite the building being gone, the nickname stayed. |

The campground includes a small shed filled with the amenities listed below. We ask only that you treat these items with care and return them to the shed prior to your departure. The Courtois Cabana campground is just 3 miles from the cabins at ArdPark -- The Pines and the All American. These venues lend a unique opportunity and rental combination for large groups, family reunions, small retreats or cabin guests wanting to compliment their reservation with day passes. About four-tenths of a mile across the road is the Berryman General Store where campground guests will find 3 clean restroom stalls and 2 coin operated showers. The store also serves up a great breakfast and plate lunch special. On a very personal note, we must be honest and fair to our guests by letting you know that when we first purchased this land it was a dream come true that fulfilled a far-fetched, long-time desire to have our own private river access. Just a year and a half later, ArdPark was born and a pact was then made between ourselves and with close friends to hold the Cabana closed to others on the Memorial Day, Labor Day and Fourth of July holiday weekends. We hope you can understand our little bit of selfishness and will consider staying any other time. The Cabana is open all year long. If there is a time we plan to not use the Cabana on a holiday weekend, we will post an availability notice on this page. |
A portable toilet (Johnny on the Spot) will be provided for our guests during peak season each year from June 1 to August 31. As our new business grows, peak season may be extended. Guests staying at the Cabana during other months will enjoy off-peak camping rates and still have the option to rent a portable toilet if they desire. Guests wanting to rent an ADA compliant portable toilet can continue to do so and pay off-peak camping rates all year long. We hope this added amenity nicely enhances your camping experience at ArdPark! |

Upstream about 100 yards, the spring-fed Lost Creek spills into the Courtois Creek. To the left of the camping acre is public access and Bass River Resort, a local outfitter, uses that land to put in canoers during times of peak river flow. At the end of ArdPark's private road are a few full and part-time neighbors. You will see these folks pass by from time-to-time, by vehicle or ATV, as they give a friendly wave. |
