The Mark Twain National Forest directly off of ArdPark Cabins' property has numerous riding
trails that are seemingly endless and rarely visited. And you won't have to travel anywhere to
take an awesome trail ride whenever you're ready to go! Guests can even ride the national forest
trails from our cabins, the All American and The Pines, all the way to our campground, the
Courtois Cabana, and then some.

The All American cabin features an 11 x 32 horse pen (pictured above) with buckets for feed and
water. Next to the horse pen is the pavilion where you can rest, relax and eat while having your
horse near your side. There is also ample space for erecting a temporary corral or setting up a
couple cable tie offs. The 60 x 60 gravel parking lot and the adjoining blacktop driveway are sure
to provide ample space to maneuver your horse trailer.

Ozark Trail - Courtois Section
(Berryman to Steelville, Missouri)
The 40 mile Courtois Section of the Ozark Trail uses the Berryman Trail as its northern trailhead. The southern entry
is at Hazel Creek just 10 miles from the cabins and campground at ArdPark off of Highway Y on County Road 657.
The Courtois Section of the trail is also accessible at Harmon Springs and the Huzzah Conservation Area. In the
Huzzah Conservation Area, horseback riding is permitted only on roads open to vehicles and there is a five mile gap
at the northern end. The gravel road between "The Narrows" and the Berryman Trail can be tricky. Traveling west to
east, be sure to make the first right past the low water bridge or you're in for a long ride to nowhere!

Ozark Trail - Trace Creek Section
(Washington County, Missouri)
Trace Creek's northern trailhead is very nearby at Hazel Creek. Horseback riders can expect to see
dense hickory, oak and pine forests with deep, shady hallows and some ridges. The 5 mile drive down
Highway Y to reach Hazel Creek on County Road 657 is very scenic, winding through the Mark Twain
National Forest. In addition to crossing Trace Creek, this section of the trail crosses several tributaries
and passes the headwaters of the Big River. To the north Trace Creek connects to the Courtois Section of
the Ozark Trail and to the south it meets the Taum Sauk Section. The Trace Creek section crosses
Highways C, DD and 32 before ending at the south trailhead on Highway A outside of Potosi. The
northern end of the
Middle Fork Section of the Ozark Trail connects with Trace Creek.
