Snelson-Brinker Cabin
West Highway 8
St. James, Missouri 65565
Distance from ArdPark Cabins and Campground - 30 minutes (25 miles)
This historic log cabin was built in 1834 by Levi Snelson who later sold it to
John Brinker. It is Crawford County's oldest home, served as the county's first
courthouse from 1835-1836 and lies within the Woodson K. Woods Memorial
Conservation Area, 8 miles west of Steelville. The old smoke house and the
family cemetery are also on the property. The cemetery is reported to house
the remains of early settlers from the Maramec Springs Community, Civil War
veterans, and Cherokee Indians who died while passing this way on the Trail
of Tears. Detailed history about the Snelson-Brinker Cabin is outlined in this
Paranormal Investigation Report.

Pine Hill Cemetery
Spook Hollow Road
St. James, Missouri 65559
Distance from ArdPark Cabinsand Campground - 50 minutes (about 40 miles)
Like most cemeteries, Pine Hill is not the scary place in the daytime that some have experienced at night. They say
the views at the edge are beautiful, overlooking cliffs to the river below. The cemetery appears well taken care of
despite many of the stones being in need of preservation. It seems an odd coincidence that some of the Snelson family
of the Snelson-Brinker cabin are buried here. This location is extremely rural. From Rolla, take Highway BB going
east. Turn right onto County Road 3450 then left onto County Road 3470 to the end. The cemetery is on the left.

Just one-half mile northwest of the tiny town of Davisville, also known as Pucky Huddle, lies Woodlock
